Separating and recovering metal is a key part of any recycling and quarrying process.

Bunting specialise in providing total metal separation and recovery solutions, manufacturing a wide range of metal separation and detection equipment at their Redditch facility, just outside Birmingham, UK.

Magnetic Separators separate ferrous metal from non-magnetic material.  The designs vary according to the application and installation.  Overband Magnets (permanent and electro) are suspended over conveyors, lifting and removing ferrous metal from transported materials such as aggregate, household refuse, demolition rubble, and other waste materials.  For more arduous environments and challenging separation objectives, large Electro or smaller Drum Magnets are used.  After ferrous metal separation, Metal Detectors detect any remaining metal such as non-magnetic manganese steel (e.g. digger teeth).

Eddy Current Separators recover or separate non-ferrous metals.  Different designs, including both concentric and eccentric magnetic rotors, ensure that any recycling company installs the best separation solution.

After separating non-ferrous metals, the SSSC or HISC Magnetic Separators recover fragmented stainless steel.  This patented technology enables the recovery or separation of all metals in a recycling process.

Technicians conduct controlled material tests on Magnetic Separators, Eddy Current Separators, and Stainless Steel Separators at the Recycling Test Facility in Redditch, UK.  The tests confirm separation capabilities.

The website provides further information on Bunting’s wide range of separation equipment and services.
